The Navin Arena is a Commonwealth of Massachusetts public ice skating facility, overseen by the Department of Conservation and Recreation (DCR). FMC has been operating the arena for DCR since 1995. The arena is a full service skating facility offering an extensive variety of skating programs for all ages and abilities. The facility features a pro shop operated by J&J Sports (508) 303-3700, a heated conference room, facilities for birthday parties, as well as a snack bar. The Navin Skating Arena provides patrons with affordable recreation in a clean, safe, and well maintained facility.

Townshend Hockey Preseason High School Conditioning Clinics

FMC Ice Sports has teamed up with Graeme Townshend, current Skating Coach of the Toronto Maple Leafs and former Boston Bruin, to bring you one of the most intense and complete conditioning and skills clinics. It's designed to get High School players ready to perform at their peak by getting them in top physical and skating shape. Clinic is 10 sessions long. Adult Instructional Hockey Announced for the 2010-2011 Season

FMC Ice Sports’ Adult Instructional Hockey is a two-tiered 80-minute program designed to teach introductory adult skaters the basics of hockey through a combination of skills training and game play. Divided into Adult Learn-to-Play and Instructional Pick-Up, Adult Instructional Hockey is the perfect way for adults with little or no hockey experience to jump into the game or for former players looking get back into the game and shake the rust off. Adult Novice League - The League for Beginner Hockey Players

Attention inexperienced adult novice hockey players! There is now a beginner league that will help you get started playing recreational hockey. The Novice League is great for players just getting into game play. Players should have completed or be concurrently enrolled in Adult Learn to Play or have some previous playing experience. Games will be played in a controlled scrimmage environment with coaches serving as referees on the ice with the players. Teams are divided evenly based on ability to keep the games fun and competitive. Full equipment is required. Downloadable brochure and registration available below.

 

At FMC Ice Sports, we want skating to be a positive experience in your life. From great exercise, a fun social activity or a sport that can teach life lessons, we have several programs that can benefit young and old, beginner and advanced and everything in between. Our Learn to Skate program is recommended for all beginner skaters. These classes will prepare you to continue on into hockey or ice skating.

Free Ice Skating Opportunities for Massachusetts Public Schools

 

FMC’s School Skate Program was established to allow accredited Massachusetts public schools the opportunity to expose their students and members to the educational and enjoyable aspects of ice skating. By offering the use of our facility at no cost, we hope to be able to teach children the benefits of team and individual sport, the technology of artificial ice making as well as the opportunity to have a good time. If you have an idea for a program especially for your group, please call our Skating Department Representative at (888) 74-SKATE. We will be happy to work with you in developing a successful program. Events must be scheduled at least two weeks in advance.

Available to Massachusetts public schools only

FREE public skating for school organized groups, weekdays during regular school hours
One visit, per class, per year
Skate rental additional - $4/per pair
School must provide chaperones to supervise (1:30 ratio)

FMC’s Group Skate Program was established to allow non-profit civic organizations the opportunity to expose their students and members to the educational and enjoyable aspects of ice skating. By offering the use of our facility at reduced cost, we hope to be able to teach children the benefits of team and individual sport, the technology of artificial ice making as well as the opportunity to have a good time. If you have an idea for a program especially for your group, please call our Group Sales Coordinator at (888) 74-SKATE. We will be happy to work with you in developing a successful program. Events must be scheduled at least two weeks in advance.

$3.00 public skating admission*
Available during any regularly scheduled public skating session
Payment required 2 weeks prior to event
