In their first of two games on February 20th,
Lakeville/Freetown handed Taunton a 6-3 loss. 6 different players
scored goals for Lakeville/Freetown and their balanced attack was
too much for Taunton to handle. Jason MacWilliam, Cody Gavin, Ryan,
Jewell, Ryan Mancovsky, Justin Mancovsky and Joey Peroni all found
the back of the net for Lakeville/Freetown, while Taunton’s Hunter
Jones had a goal and an assist to lead his team. |

In their second game of the day, Lakeville/Freetown
had to face a tough Nauset team that beat them soundly just two
weeks prior to this game. However, Lakeville/Freetown turned the
tide and was able to reverse their fortune with a huge 7-2 victory.
Derek Clancy and Jason MacWilliam each had 2 goals for
Lakeville/Freetown, while Joe Peterson did all the scoring for
Nauset. |

League leaders New Bedford continued their hot streak
easily handling a strong Dartmouth team, 6-1. Led by their dynamic
duo of Quin Indio and Luc Suave, New Bedford stormed out to a six
goal lead before Dartmouth snapped the shut out late in the third
period. Both Indio and Suave had 3 points in this game. |

Justin Ferreira’s game winning goal with just over
two minutes remaining gave New Bedford a 6-5 victory over
Lakeville/Freetown, but more importantly, it clinched the regular
season title and the first seed in the playoffs. The duo of Indio
and Suave were at it again, only this game each player had 4 points.
Nick Menzel almost single-handedly won this game for
Lakeville/Freetown leading all scorers with 5 points (2g,3a), but
unfortunately it was not enough. |

This see-saw battle between two playoff bound teams
went Dartmouth’s way in the end, but Nauset gave it everything they
had, scoring 4 goals in the third period and almost took away a
point. A second period hat trick by JD Ferreira gave Dartmouth just
enough breathing room and Ryan Gaydou’s goal with just under 5
minutes remaining proved to be the game winner. |
Note: Two other matchups were played after the Winter Break, Taunton vs. Nauset and Dartmouth vs. Lakeville/Freetown. Both games ended in forfeits with Taunton and Dartmouth receiving 2 points.
